How It Started

Born in Brooklyn.
Inspired by Maine.

After more than a decade of searching for a lobster roll in New York City that actually lived up to the ones found along the coast of Maine, our founder stopped looking — and started building.

What began as a lifelong love of seafood, travel, and community became Sailor & Siren: a Brooklyn-based seafood brand dedicated to doing a few things exceptionally well — starting with the lobster roll.

The Maine Moment

The turning point came on a dock in midcoast Maine. Fresh lobster pulled straight from the water. Simple preparation. No shortcuts. No distractions. Just respect for the ingredient. That moment made one thing clear: the problem wasn't that great lobster rolls didn't exist — it was that they weren't being done properly in NYC. Sailor & Siren exists to close that gap.

Sailor & Siren launched in Brooklyn as a pop-up in the summer of 2025. We believe in meeting people where they are — neighborhood bars, community events, street corners buzzing in the summer. Our pop-ups weren't just about food; they're about gathering, slowing down, and bringing a little coastal magic to the city.

You'll often find us collaborating with other local (often women-owned!) small businesses, highlighting our neighbors, and building a place where great food brings people together.
